2nd in A Final
A double win at Whilton Mill had reduced Jamie Caroline’s deficit to Daniel Ticktum from 39 to 19 points heading into the final weekend of the season.
For the Final it was Caroline on pole from Macdonald, Ticktum and Taylforth, and after Taylforth hit the tyres in Turn Caroline, Ticktum and Macdonald tried to break away. The front trio battled furiously, which allowed Josh Smith and Shanaka Clay to close.
After dropping to 5th Macdonald fought back and took the lead on lap 12 just as Caroline was shuffled back to 7th. Ticktum latched onto Macdonald and the pair pulled away but when Ticktum tried to wrestle the lead away from Macdonald with two corners to go he got two wheels on the grass and wisely backed out.
Macdonald duly crossed the line to take his first FKS victory by 0.27s from Ticktum, who gained several crucial points on Caroline in the process. Smith took 3rd with Caroline fighting back to 4th.
